Book Review: WHAT A POWERFUL AND COURAGEOUS MEMOIR !!!
Summary: 5 Stars
This book really was very thought provoking, heartfelt, and even heart wrencing at times; but an incredible read! The author so bravely gives a voice and sheds an incredibly bright light onto an area of darkness. He also reveals to others, they don't have to live with the pain and shame alone. When I saw the title of this book, it instantly became part of my; to read list. I cannot begin to tell you how moving and thought provoking this book is. The author, Michael Taylor is brilliant at the way he wraps his social and spiritual convictions around the incredibly poignant story of himself, submerged within a nightmare. I think in America in the 21st century, we owe so much more to rethink where we have been and where it is we, as part of the human family, and a nation, would like to go. I think that as a society we end our concern regarding many of the issues at hand, when it's all said and done, at the end of the day, when the recorders turn off, the cameras are shuttered and we all go home, as some of us are led into a living hell. In all, this is a fantastic book, which you cannot put down once you are reading it. Be aware that there are some pretty ugly scenes in the book, even if they are described tastefully by the author.
I congratulate Michael Taylor on what is a completely engrossing reading experience. (And the last few pages will rip your heart out!) Thank you Michael, for opening my eyes and making me think about a subject that normally is not in my conscious mind. This book will give you chills, and it will also make you think about people, and the horrible things we are capable of doing. Much praise should be given to Michael Taylor, for having walked through the valley of the shadow of hell, and coming out alive. As for the the character's in the narrative; they will no doubt reap what they have given to the universe.
