Book Reviews of The No-Cry Sleep Solution: Gentle Ways to Help Your Baby Sleep Through the Night

Book Review: Simple and Effective
Summary: 5 Stars

I was amazed that something that seemed so much common sense, and 'easy' worked for my child - but it did. The main areas that helped me were: Routine, Rituals, Consistency and Winding down before bed time. I have read these words in so many books, but this book helped me plan it out and with the help of the log, made me realise how bad I had it. Within 2 days I saw a magnificent improvement. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. I have read so many books on babies, toddlers, discipline and sleep, and this is the most useful by far.

Book Review: At last! Someone who understands...
Summary: 5 Stars

This book is absolutely brilliant. This is no 'one size fits all' solution but something that you can tailor to your own needs. Elizabeth Pantley understands how precious babyhood is, and that a mother sometimes wants to hold her sleeping infant in her arms. Moreover, she actually says that this is okay - occasionally! There is no mention of 'crying it out' - I shudder at the thought- but instead there are lots of ideas for helping your child to sleep through gentle, pleasurable routines that the parents decide on for themselves. Bedtime is a time for bonding, and this book has enhanced this time for us. I cannot recommend this book highly enough

Book Review: It worked for my 3 year old !
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this book for my baby because we were still having sleep problems with my 3 year old and I didn't want to have the same problem with my new baby. My baby is now sleeping great, but I'm even more excited to report that the ideas solved the problems with my older child. She was still waking several times a night and getting in bed with us but now she sleeps *happily* in her own bed all night long!!! I have many books about children and sleep but they all advise some version of crying and don't seem to care about my children's feelings (or mine either!) This book is different. The author is a mother with 4 children and she obviously understands a mothers point of view. (And my husband loved the book too) It explains WHY you have sleep problems and HOW to solve them in easy to understand ways. I was impressed that the author doesn't judge a readers way of doing things and offers many different suggestions based on what YOU think is right. She doesn't preach only one right way like so many other sleep books do. Our whole family sleeps now. I LOVE this book!

Book Review: It works when you follow the ideas
Summary: 5 Stars

A bunch of us from my support group got this book and tried it. We talked about it alot. Those of us who had the best success actually did the logs and wrote out our sleep plan like the book tells you too. The people who had the most problems didn't do it. They just read the book and used some of the ideas. I think that you should follow the book just like its written because thats when it works. It takes some work at first but when your baby is sleeping 10 hours at night you'll see that its worth every minute you put into it.
