The story, as detailed through the words of Ken Follett and experienced through the captivating voice of John Lee, is perhaps my most joyous entertainment experiences - inclusive of movies, books and the theatre. I can only rank higher my readings of the Tolkien LOTR series and The Hobbit. The engaging details of the characters, their motives, desires, feelings and of the architecture impassioned during that era had me mesmerized from the beginning to the very last line. John Lee could read the ingredients of my most horrible meal and my mouth would be watering. Indeed, his voice took over my own conscious whereas my thought process was invaded by the words, insights and logic going through the minds of the characters as brilliantly written by Ken Follett.
It is fair to say that I like this audio book. I highly recommend it.
