Book Review: Pretty awesome
Summary: 4 Stars
Zacks does a terrific job of bringing Eaton and Jefferson and all the other characters in this doozy of a historical thriller to life. While I second another reviewer's complaint about the tininess of the font used in the paperback, that's really my only beef with the book. The thing is quite well-written: Fast-paced, evocative, informative, interesting, and never dull. All in all, I can't but recommend it.
(The only reasons I'm not giving it five stars are the aforementioned font problem, as well as the fact that in my gut, as good as Pirate Coast is, I don't feel that it's quite on par with such of its peers as, say, Philbrick's Sea of Glory.)
