Book Reviews of The Presence Process: A Healing Journey into Present Moment AwarenessBook Review: Presence for Dummies Summary: 5 StarsSimilar to Dr. Bahder, I am both a physician, specializing in integral psychiatry, who works with people in a holistic fashion to get to true cause in the matter of their suffering and a spiritual practitioner. In my over 10 years of practice I have not found a guide that helped myself or my patients to such an extent to face themselves and their own undigested emotional experiences from the past.
I have read many of Eckhart Tolle's books, but like Krishnamurti, his work is more description of a level of consciousness and less a set of specific and ongoing instructions that lead you there in an ego-proof manner. This is a simple, direct, how-to manual to finish your emotional past so that you can stop reacting to it, live in this glorious present moment and respond to life! This is freedom. This is liberation. This is joy. And it is fast!
I am free.
Book Review: Healing Through The Presence Process Summary: 5 StarsMichael Brown gently but compellingly re-works the old "inner child" pop psychology into something effective and useable. This book skillfully guides western readers into the experience of mindfulness, a cornerstone of Eastern philosophies, but often a difficult concept for us. I have only read through the text once, and have not actually "done the sessions," yet I am already sensing a shift in my perceptions and a positive change in my life experiences. Easy to read and use, I highly recommend this book for anyone who has emotional healing to do.
Book Review: Presence Process Experience Summary: 5 StarsThe Presence Process is a well structured synthesis of transformational tools acquired during years of personal experience by the author. It's an exceptional read. But its uniqueness and power come through the genius of the ten week Presence Process that allows the reader to access to the Presence 'experience'. The access key is a simple breathing technique. With this as your start,The Presence Process leads you step by step to discover the source of your 'reactions' and shift to 'responses'. I'm on week three and I'm making major shifts. Michael suggests it's best if you are ready to do the work on your own, as opposed to doing it for show or talking about the concepts. If that's were you are, the Process is there. To say "it works" really doesn't do it justice. I would throw out all my other tranformational books that I have collected over the years and keep this one!
Book Review: Michael's Metaphysics Summary: 5 StarsThis book is extraordinary, and for those prepared to listen, work, get still, and plunge in, it's enormously transformative. Michael's rare gift has been to seep himself into his own deep pain and find deeper questions there which led him to teachers he otherwise would have never found. Through the gifts these teachers brought, he has created a seering self inquiry that is helpfully translated into usable exercises, each a week long, that those of us eager to keep growing can easily use. His book requires stamina on our part, but who would ask any less of himself or herself?
Book Review: The Presence Process by Michael Brown Summary: 5 StarsIf you are really wanting help and no self-help book has "saved" you yet, this is the book for you. If you think whatever this material puts you through is not worse than you already are experiencing - this book is for you. Eckart Tolle tells you what you need to do and Michael Brown tells you how to do it.
