Book Reviews of The Princess Diaries

Book Review: A Royal Read
Summary: 5 Stars

I started out reading this book, because we bought the movie and it was ok. So I read this book, and it's like, WHOA! This is awesome! This is a cool story about a geeky girl named Mia, (just for the record, geeks ROCK) and she is a wall-flower. No boyfriend, geeky friend, hates math, and is flunking it. But she confides all her troubles in her journal that she carries around(Who would do that???). And then she finds out, she's the princess of a small country!!! Her dad has testicular cancer, so he cant have any more kids. Which pretty much means, she's it. She has to rule, or else the country will be taken over by , like, probably France( IT NEVER SAYS!!!) And so she has to take awful princess lessons with her Grandmere' who sounds like an older, snottier, and European Joan Rivers. And then she also has a crush on her BFF's hunky older bro. Obviously she has some things to deal with. So I would say, that for any girls who are looking for a fun read to realize that your life is good, read this!! :)

Book Review: A Semi Great Read
Summary: 4 Stars

I just finised reading this book, after i got it in Nov. 2001. I watched the movie and figured, it's the same as the book, right? NO, it's so unike the book. I mean, if you watch the movie, Josh kisses her at the beach, not in the book. He kisses her some place else. and he turn out to be as jerk and a freak. (in my opinion). And Paolo doesn't tell the media about her someone else does. Grandmere, faces the media the same way in both. i think this is a great book, but i also think that someone under the age of eleven wouldn't really get the meaning. Also, i think that even know it's for young readers i think everyone will enjoy iT! my mom did and she's like 40!

Book Review: A book for yong girls
Summary: 5 Stars

I think this was a really good book for ages 10 and up I think
Is was a book to belive in your self and to do what to want to do and I even think boys should read it to and to knomw what it is like to be princess. And it was a really good book and I think
Every one should read it.

Book Review: A fun teen novel everyone 13-19 should read!
Summary: 5 Stars

I really thought that this was a fun book. It was the Cinderella story told in modern times with cooler charactors. It is about Mia who thinks that life can't get any worse: she's flat-chested, unpopular, and has no boyfriend. She was born out of wedlock when her mother had an affair in colledge. On top of that, her mom is dating her Algebra teacher! Her mother is a bohemian artist, and her father is a politician in a small counrty called Genovia. Boy, she is in for a surprise! Her father has cxancer and can bare no more offspring. "So what?" says Mia. Well, her father wasn't the poilition he led her to believe. He was the PRINCE of Genovia! Making Mia the PRINCESS! In a short amount of time, Mia is taking princess lessons with her horrid grandmother and still doesn't have a date to the Cultural Diversity dance! I liked this book because it was fun and lighthearted. I know that the movie is reccomended for seven or eight year olds, but I highly advise them NOT to read the book. It has content innapropriate for them. Also reccomended: Princess Diaries Vol II. The movie. Keep in mind with the movie please that is is only BASED on the book, meaning that there are some major changes.
