Book Reviews of The PromiseBook Review: Boring and not romantic Summary: 1 Stars
I read this for the first time in high school and thought it was romantic however on terracing it as an adult I found it very poorly written and quite boring. It was so trite. I don't think it was edited as I found multiple errors. There is also no passion in the book what so ever.
Book Review: Can't put this book down, great story!! Summary: 5 Stars
The ending of this book is the best part of the whole book. This story gives hope when disaster strikes, and shows that love wins over all. It's a happy beginning, with disaster striking, and you think the worst for the main two people, until the end. To think that two people could love each other enough not to forget about one another for 3 years is inspiring, and gives you hope.
Book Review: Critique Review Summary: 4 Stars
The Promise By: Danielle Steel Danielle Steel, today's leading lady of love has written a profound novel on life's most rewarding emotion, love. The Promise one of many Danielle Steel's novels is complete with different kinds of emotions. I happen to think this book was tremendously interesting. It was a roller coaster of emotions. At certain parts of the book I felt happy and other parts I wanted to cry, because it was so depressing, but during the whole book I was impatient to knowing what was going to happen. Danielle Steel is famous for writing love novels. She keeps me guessing through the entire novel. Like any book The Promise also had its faults. The author emphasizes on the characters looks. Every character in the novel is portrayed as looking very beautiful and having an excellent figure. The words stunning, and exquisite are used often in the novel to describe ones character. She never allows you to forget that they are lovely and powerful. It's as if, if the character happen to be average every day people they would not have the same problems that these really attractive people do. She also likes to point out that the characters of the novel are rich and everything is excisable to them. The characters are plastic surgeons and owners of very powerful architectural company. The importance of money and power gives the reader an idea that without money nothing is possible. She as an author thinks the world consists of only striking and influential people and unfortunately this world doesn't. Once you get over the novels faults you begin to realize its good qualities. For example there is a lot of detail given to the reader to help them comprehend what the person is going through and what its environment is like. The excessive descriptions in the novel place the reader into the characters shoes, so they are able to see what kind of a situation it is. Another good quality of the novel is that there are a lot of sensitive parts to it. They share their feeling and make it seem so real. Makes the reader think its reality. I would not recommend the novel The Promise to a child, because first of all a child would not understand what the words mean, and when I say child I mean someone under the age of thirteen. Also this novel has a bit of profanity in it. A child is not ready to hear the difficulties of life and the hardships that come with is. I would highly recommend this novel to teenage girls. Considering that I am a teenage girl I really enjoyed it. I was so attached that I didn't want to put the novel down.
Book Review: Danielle Steel - The only Author who can touch my heart Summary: 5 Stars
Hi everyone, I have collected all the books that Danielle Steel has written and each and everyone has touched my heart and soul in someway. To think I have to wait for her books to be published in paperback because I don't have the space to collect them in hard back is somewhat frustrating. It was wonderful to think that some one like Danielle would give us her readers an insight into her private world when she wrote "His bright light" which is about her son who died at his own hands,I found it touching and a sign to me of her being a genuine person who believes that out of something so painful she could help just one person and possibly save that person or family from similar pain. I recommend all her books and hope you the people get something out of all of them like I did.
Book Review: Danielle Steel Book Summary: 3 Stars
I love these books and I'm always buying them. The shipping took a little long to get to me. I order a lot off line and am not use to anything taking two weeks to get to me. Other than that, I this is my favorite book I've been looking for and it was in good shape too! Would probably buy again!
