This book keeps you on your toes! It does kinda lag a little in the middle but it was worth it. (This was the first DS book I read though) When my mom saw what book I wanted she said that it would not be very good. She said all DS books are the same.Well she just finished the book and she loved it! BUY THIS BOOK!

Book Review: If you read ONE Danielle Steel book... Read this one! Summary: 5 Stars
I've been skeptical of Danielle Steel all my reading life. After all, she seems to release new books like how some people dish out business cards! I didn't pick up this book until a friend ranted and raved about it. Well, this book made me a fan. My first DS book and she won me over. This book just got me by the heart and clamped on it. Wow, this is a wonderful book and I'd recommend it to anyone, especially anyone who's weary of Daniel Steel. I love the story of Nancy and Michael from page 1 and I was glued to the pages till the very end. And I loved the ending, tears just sprung up and rolled down my cheeks. I read the ending 5 times and wished it didn't end. This is a truly a masterpiece.Julianne

Book Review: Love Story Danielle Steel style in San Francisco Summary: 5 Stars
This is the only Danielle Steel novel I will ever read. It's got her signature drama but the story is just plain good. The Promise has all the elements: forbidden love affair, tragic elopement, 3000 mile separation, a lovelorn architect and a reinveted artist in San Francisco. When Nancy McAllister leaves Boston to have a plastic surgeon reconstruct her face ... she assume a whole new life as Marie Adamson complete with a new voice, body, career, and lover. Everything on the outside changes except her love for Michael Hillyard. She keeps waiting for him to find her not knowing that his mother told him she was dead. Two years pass and a medical building project brings Michael to California. When Marie/Nancy comes face-to-face with Michael again .... you can't help but want to tell him her real identity. Although a bit dated, melodramatic, and typical 70's American romance .... this is a good summer loving read. Steel couldn't write this story today. Doctors can't get involved with patients, at least not legally, and if someone told me that a person close to me died, I'd want to see proof. Nonetheles, if you want dewey romance that sounds irrational at times, indulge!
