This book keeps you on your toes! It does kinda lag a little in the middle but it was worth it. (This was the first DS book I read though) When my mom saw what book I wanted she said that it would not be very good. This unique, adventurous love story by Danielle Steel has many cliffhangers that keeps its readers in suspence. The book left this reader wanting to know what was going to happen next to their favorite an dnot so favorite characters. For instance Marion Hillyard, the antagonist of the novel, had a bad heart, so something new was always happening to her. This book depicts the struggles that two young lovers undergo when torn apart by a devistating accident. it has a interesting storyline that is full of all these twist and turns of events. Things happen that no one would have ever expected. What makes the book unique is it doesn't have a typical ferry tale ending. Yes, the two lovers destined for each other got back together, but not all the good guys won. At the end, the bad guy tries to write her wrongs. After reading one of Ms. Steel's books, one would want to read them all. That's why I give this wonderful book by Danielle Steel four stars.Book Review: If you read ONE Danielle Steel book... I've been skeptical of Danielle Steel all my reading life. After all, she seems to release new books like how some people dish out business cards! I didn't pick up this book until a friend ranted and raved about it. Well, this book made me a fan. My first DS book and she won me over. This book just got me by the heart and clamped on it. Wow, this is a wonderful book and I'd recommend it to anyone, especially anyone who's weary of Daniel Steel. I love the story of Nancy and Michael from page 1 and I was glued to the pages till the very end. And I loved the ending, tears just sprung up and rolled down my cheeks. I read the ending 5 times and wished it didn't end.This is a truly a masterpiece.Julianne
Book Review: A very toching story about what a promise really means.
Summary: 4 Stars
This is for anyone who likes love stories. It's about a young couple who has been involved for a couple of years and plan to be married. This is true love. The love worth making a promise about, which they have. They made a promise to each other that nothing would come between them. On their way to get married, they were involved in a bad accident. Michael not too seriously hurt, but Nancy almost died. Nancy being persuaded from Michael's mom to break all ties with him, and in return she would take care of all medical/living expenses until she was fully recovered. Life was miserable for both Michael and Nancy. I encourage you to get the book and find out how this story ends, it's well worth the reading.The book gives great details on what/where the settings take place. Read it, it's worth the time.Book Review: I THOUGHT I didn't like to read until I read this book!!

This is the book that made me realize that reading is a great escape. I read it in the late 70's or early 80's and I've never forgotten it. I'm buying it now for my daughter who also "thinks" she doesn't like to read.THIS is a must read for all you romantics.
