If I could only keep one book in my library, it would be this one. I have purchased many copies for loved ones and highly recommend it to anyone occassionally compelled to make sense out of a world that often doesn't make sense. Personally, it stands as a reference to help me accept the paradoxical nature of life - joy and sorrow, giving and receiving, reason and passion, etc. - and continuously brings me peace when life gets chaotic. I love the fact that each chapter is so short, so while he says a lot, it's easy to digest. I cannot recommend this book highly enough to anyone of any faith on any kind of spiritual quest!Book Review: A Classic

This book Mr. Gibran has written is a deliciously lovely book. Every phrase in this book was something I wanted to take out just to describe it to people. These questions are all questions of life and I will never look at life the same way. Though I enjoyed this book very much, I am shocked to find out some of the comments of other reviewers. First of all, yes, it is a spiritual book, but it is not the Bible. The Bible alone holds more answers than Almustafa explained and/or tried to answer. This book will never come close to the Bible, because the Bible itself holds the key to our salvation - not a fictional poetry book by Kahlil Gibran who wasn't exactly a holier than thou type of person (as I found out during an author research in class.) Though I am ticked to find people seeking the answers to life in this book, I truly truly truly admire this book. Rich and illustrative, philosophically mesmerizing and artfully worded throughout. I know that an average person can not write a book quite like this one. I totally recommend this book to anybody and everybody. A good book to read to children as they grow up, a good book to pick quotes from, and a book worthy enough to be called a classic.Book Review: A Great Gift

This is an excelent book to give to anyone that is entering a new stage of their life. After being given this for my highschool graduation I have gone on to read as much by Gibran as possible.
