Book Reviews of The Psoas BookBook Review: Concise and Invaluable Summary: 5 Stars
The second edition of this book is certainly professionally enough put together and written. Several authors talk about working the body to improve human happiness, but very few have all that precise an idea how exactly to do it. The author seems not only to have kept her eyes on just that task, but to have discovered and referenced the slim tradition within the tradition of bodywork that also focuses on precise movement.
Book Review: Doesn't quite make it Summary: 2 Stars
I found this book frustrating, primarily because I think Ms. Koch probably has a lot to offer, but this book does a poor job of conveying it. I found the text and illustrations confusing and poorly edited.
Book Review: Great Self-Help Book Summary: 5 Stars
I have ordered several copies of this book over the last few years, as I am a professional massage therapist and have lent copies to clients numerous times. Many people suffer from back discomfort due to the psoas muscle being tight and pulling the lower back area out of normal alignment. My clients have felt this book to be extremely helpful in eliminating psoas muscle spasm and for ongoing maintenance in that area.
There is very little information available on treating the psoas muscle and this is the first time I have found a book devoted to self care. The book is well written with many excellent illustrations of how to do the exercises, all of which are very clear and easy for clients to follow. Many clients have, after borrowing it, ordered a copy of the book to keep.
Book Review: Informative Summary: 5 Stars
I just want to say that I am so excited to have found this book. It is very informative about the Psoas muscle and so many people don't seem to know about it. I have had pain for the past 6 years and getting worse and have been to get injections in my spine, chiropractor, and massage therapist without any relief and no one listening to me. I finally figured out this was possibly my problem by putting in my symptoms and looking it up on the computer. I had never heard of this muscle before. All the things that can go wrong with this muscle fits the pain I have been having. This book is so informative. It has helped me realize what I need to do next to get help for my pain. Also Amazon was the only place that I could find the book to buy. Thank you Amazon.com. BZ
Book Review: Must Read Summary: 5 Stars
The Psoas Book opened my eyes greatly to this incredible muscle. I know the Psoas is an important muscle in anatomy, but the elements of emotion, function, and dysfunction put this muscle on the top shelf in terms of importance.
After reading this book, I have taken a closer look at the Psoas in a variety of clients issues, and have found it implicated a multiple of times.
Dont overlook this muscle and this imnortant book. Highly recommended.
