This was our Book Club selection for the month of February and after reading some of the reviews here I was worried I would not enjoy it. That is so far from the real experience! The book is an easy read and insightful. While this story is written by Chris Gardner - the man - It definitely chronicles his journey through a child's eye. It gives an honest, forthright perspective on the challenges he faced growing up in homes where most of the people who cared for him truly loved him but could not always give him the stability he needed. No matter what, his Mom has always been larger than life to him... his stepfather a big, angry bully. Lots of emotion as we travel his journey. Motivating in that it makes you feel if you have the desire, faith, patience, you can overcome and even grow through your trials. Book Review: Amazing story
