Book Review: One-sided view into the life and death of River Phoenix
Summary: 3 Stars
With a large glossy photograph of River on every other page, this album was not short of pictures. However, Dening writes in a very one-sided fashion and seems to unkindly blame River's family (especially his mother) for his death. Sarcastic comments crop up every now and then, and the beginning of the book (the movie-script style play) seemed insensitive and intrusive. The writer is however trying to get her point across about the evils of Hollywood and fame. A good book to have if you are a River Phoenix collector. I found that the pictures were much more precious to me than what the writer had to say.
