Book Review: Understanding of Vocal Mechanics Made Simple!

All of us who study voice are different--but those of us who enjoyed sports, and who have deep curiousity about 'how things work' in general will love this book. For those who 'get' sports, this book underlines the fact that vocal sensations must be practiced again and again until our bodies automatically assume the correct and most optimal positions for singing on the different pitches and vowels. Nothing else could be more crucial for attaining perfect pitch and maximum breadth of registration for one's own unique voice. For the intellectually curious, the in-depth explanations of how acoustical waves need more space and height to vibrate, and of how the modification of vowels is in perfect corroboration with the science of acoustics, this book is mandatory and pure joy. I read it after 'Voice of the Mind', and it helped cement a full understanding of acoustical law and how our singing will (yes, WILL), truly blossom WHEN it conforms through the proper vowel formations and spacing formations in our throat, mouth and head. I cannot get enough of these books by E. Herbert-Caesari. My dramatic/spinto tenor voice, which is one of the more unwieldy and challenging stimmfache, has broken open like never before as I follow his teachings--and as my voiceteacher also follows, to a large degree, the principles found in this book and the others by E. Herbert-Caesari.
