This is another one of those pretentious, "don't you wish you lived the life that I do" book. While some of Hoffman's initial observations are interesting, much of the book is just trite recollection. It teaches one little about what Rome is really like, with far too much attention being paid to try fit events together in this "season" framework. This is one of the few books that I just couldn't muster up the courage to finish.
