Book Reviews of The Shack: Where Tragedy Confronts Eternity

Book Review: "The Shack"
Summary: 5 Stars

I KNEW there was more to a relationship with God than met the eye! This book is written with that unique relationship in mind--between EVERY human and their Creator--all can relate! "The Shack" was not only thought-provoking (long after the book ended), but each page was emotionally charged with every imagineable feeling--from laughter & despair to each secret longing inbetween. The story was easily identifiable to a Reader's experience: we have ALL felt such sadness & loss, such expectation & joy, guilt and relief, and the secret desire for a relationship with a God who could KNOW us that well, help us that way, yet love us that much! Wm. P. Young not only makes the words jump off the page, he makes the concepts wrap tightly around one's mind and not let go. He appears inspired from above!

Book Review: "The Shack"
Summary: 4 Stars

A very thought provoking book. Many concepts to ponder and think about and then try to apply them to one's life. The plots can catch you off guard with tragedy that eventually leads to forgiveness and reconciliation. A good read.

Book Review: "The Shack"
Summary: 5 Stars

I was given this book by a good friend. I found it to be very thought provocative. It answers some questions for me, and left some unanswered. I purchased several copies to give as gifts.

Book Review: "The Shack"
Summary: 5 Stars

This book is absolutely wonderful! Very thought provoking for any Christian....but am not sure I would recommend it for the non-Christian. It's very important to realize before reading this book that it's a book of fiction and offers 'a believers' opinion of what it would be like to meet the Trinity in todays world.

Book Review: "The Shack"
Summary: 5 Stars

"The Shack" is awesome! I have read it twice on my own now and enough people at my church were intrigued by it, that our pastor will be doing a class on it from September - November.

I just love it when you are forced to let go of all stereo-types and throw your mind wide open to look at things in totally different ways -- in this case the Trinity. Wow! And it also addresses the pain and suffering we have to go through in this life to achieve a higher level of intimacy with God as well as an explanation of "why bad things happen to good people".

Needless to say, I will read it a third time when I take the pastor's class in September!!! Sheila - Suffolk, VA
