Some traditional thinkers will have difficulty with this book, but I found it to very stimulating and thought-provoking.
I'm a retired and "refired" minister. I was a full time Associate Pastor in churches ranging from 300 to 3,000 in attendance for 30 years. Currently I've "refired" and am serving as an interim pastor.
Book Review: Very thought-provoking! Summary: 5 Stars
"The Shack" is a very thought-provoking story, that you will have to remind yourself that it IS a work of fiction. It would make for a very interesting group book study discussion. I have recommended this book to my friends. It's a book to read slowly; doing some thinking; and just enjoy the story.
Book Review: Very touching book Summary: 5 Stars
This is such a meaningful book, especially for those who have difficulty understanding life and the need to be able to forgive!
Book Review: Very unsettling Summary: 1 Stars
This book will be very unsettling to you if you are truly a Christian. You won't want to see the Lord of your life portrayed in this manner and the inaccuracies about the trinity will really bother you.
Book Review: Visit "The Shack" You'll Never Be The Same! Summary: 5 Stars
This book was intriguing and drew me in right away, it has mystery, suspense and most importantly it turns a spotlight on your perception of God! It will cause you to reevaluate any "religious" or "traditional" views you may have about your own personal relationship with God. If you don't know or have a personal relationship with God, this book will cause you to want to get to know "Papa"! Although the main plot of the book is very sad and painful, you will go through a transition right along with "Mack" as you read this wonderfully written book! You will be enlightened, encouraged and motivated to face your own personal places of pain and know that God will be there to help you through it. Visit/Read "The Shack"!
