Book Reviews of The Shack: Where Tragedy Confronts EternityBook Review: ...ugh..(eyeroll...) Summary: 1 Stars
one of the worst books i ever read..first, a man that uses the word 'potty break' twice through out the book, gives me the shivers..and God telling him not to eat greens, it will 'give him the trots'..is another..
why didnt i have this idea, to write a crappy book, and make millions?
this guy is a horrible author, reading the story itself was so boring, you knew what was going to happen on every page.
you could tell he had to pick up his thesaurus a few times, to pick out some big words, to make it look like he was halfway an intelligent writer, instead, it just made his writing even weirder.
i dont know what all the hype is about...
Book Review: 1 Cor 5:6 Summary: 1 Stars
Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?
I agree, a large portion of this book is a wonderfully written story. However, it is amazing to me to see how many people believe this book to be non fiction, when it is in fact FICTION. I have experienced people taking this book as the word of God and I fear they are now rejecting His true Word, His Scriptures and His way of life in trade for a man made story. In my opinion the scriptures have been twisted in this story to bring about a point and that is of complete abandonment of Gods Word and His holy ways of living.
God says "If you love me you will keep my commandments" the book says, if you try to keep commandments you are rejecting me.
God says you will be blessed if you walk in His ways, the book says you are declaring your independance from God if you try to follow any rules.
God says to repent of your evil ways, the book claims that there are no rules...therefore my question would be, why would we need to repent?
I would also add, that I find people focus on the "love" they feel from reading this book, "God's love for them". I would ask, why do you not turn to the love letter given to you by your God, His holy Scriptures, and read His own words, first hand. Would you want your spouse to run down the road to the neighbors house and ask his opinion on how much your spouse loves you? I think it is much more meaningful if we dig into the precious gift He has already given us and stop looking for confirmation of His care and love from outside sources. Glorify Him, glorify His Messiah, Glorify His Word. Stop glorifying man.
Book Review: 1 Corinthians 14 Summary: 1 Stars
1 Cornithians 14:30-33 - And if a revelation comes to someone who is sitting down, the first speaker should stop. 31-For you can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged. 32-The spirits of prophets are subject to the control of prophets. 33-For God is not a God of disorder but of peace.
God is not the author of this...He is the author of The Word...and God is not the author of confusion...this author is. If he fails to speak of the Word of God and acknowledge the Word then this book is nothing but mere confusion...all these opinions are proof. When there is no confusion all are on one accord - it states in verse 31 "...SO THAT EVERYONE MAY BE INSTRUCTED AND ENCOURAGED."
Book Review: 10 Star Rating Summary: 5 Stars
This is a must read. The most beautiful book I have ever read. Truly has rocked my world. I thank God for using William Young to write such a great master piece.
Book Review: 100% AMAZING Summary: 5 Stars
This has been by far the most moving fiction book that I have ever read. I have had a relationship with God, or Papa, or whatever your name for Him/Her may be, for as long as I can remember. However, this book shed new light into my life and my relationship with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. It is truly amazing the way that God works. The Father's words thru William P. Young spoke directly into the inner most part of my soul, and I will be forever changed.
I can't say enough good things about this book. It is a MUST read!!!!!
