Book Reviews of The Shell SeekersBook Review: A Great Book Summary: 5 Stars
This book is about Penelope who is coming to the end of her life because she is getting old. As she thinks of dieing and no longer being on this earth, she thinks about her life and of her 3 grown children. They are somewhat of a disappointment to her as she sees how they act over her possessions they will inherit.I have not read a book this good in a long time. It is one of those books you will not want to put down.
Book Review: A charming story Summary: 4 Stars
I usally find books like this sappy and hard to get through, but this one was diffrent. The writing was excellent and the charcters real.I always admire writers who came create three dimensional charcters, and Pilcher does just that. Penlope's has three children, and she does not get along well with two of them, Nacy and Noel. These children are money hungry and think their mother owes them more than she has already given them. However Pilcher makes it clear that Penlope loves all her children and the reader winds up having some sympathy for them. The novel manges to come full circle and charm the reader. It is clear that Oliva, the daughter Penlope gets along with best, will become like her mother. The manner in which their lives parelle each other is the central focus of the novel and charms the reader. A great summer read.
Book Review: A classic Summary: 4 Stars
Right up there with "Winter Solstice" on my favorites list. I've lost track of the number of times I've read it with the same relish and excitement as the first time. Rosamunde Pilcher's books are a treasure!
Book Review: A different world Summary: 5 Stars
Once I started to read the book I began to live in a different world altogether....in the world of Penelope. I savoured each page and didn't let go of it till it was done...and I was left asking for more...
Book Review: A great escape from every day life Summary: 5 Stars
I read Rosamunde Pilcher to escape and every one of her books takes you away. I love her ability to give you all the little details about the settings and people without bogging you down with minutia. A delightful, relaxing read.
