The Shining Sword, a short novel by Charles G. Coleman, is an absolute wreck--the writing is banal and tepid, the plot is uninspired and lackluster in detail, and the 'spiritual' message it contains is heavy-handed at best. Had the writer employed unique characterization, better plot material, and (I can not stress this enough) less preachy themes, someone might actually read this. As it is, no one wants to, and I certainly regret ever picking it up. All-in-all, The Shining Sword is nothing short of pseudo-literature and does not deserve the time of day. 1/5.
