Book Review: A great book for people interested in Islamic Spain

This book covers, with a lucid and fluid narrative, the story of Islam in Spain. It cleary shows the advances Spain made under the Islamic rule in the worlds of science and the arts. Stanley Lane-Poole also describes the intrigues that lay behind both the Islamic and Christian rulers in and around Spain during these times and how the balance of power shifted between the different rulers. Special attention is also given to the key protagonists like Abder-Rahman III, Almanzour, Cid the Challenger, et al. who played a big role in Spanish history.
The great thing about this book is that it deals with the subject matter, that of Islam in Spain, in a manner that does not prove pedantic as most books covering history are, but rather in a way that's both highly educational and interesting.
Defintely a must buy for anyone who wishes to discover more about Spanish and/or Islamic history.
