Book Review: A Christmas Tradition Being Passed On

My mom bought me this book back in 1980 - when I was only 4 years old. Every holiday season I would bring it out at the first sign of the Christmas Tree, and the first smell of gingerbread cookies. I would dig into the scratch and sniff with absiloute delight - each scent reminding me what is to come over the coming days towards December 25th. The scent of pine trees, freshly baked apple pie, even hot cocoa after a hike in the snow is intriguing to a youngster, and helps engage one into the lovely story even more.The storyline of a little bear following his mom around the house as she prepares for the holiday just added to the absiloute brilliance of this wonderful book. It truly was my favourite holiday book straight through to the age of 10.
Now, some 25 years later, I have purchased the same book for my son - now 4 years old. My original has all of its sniff lables scratched out and scentless (even though the pinetree scent is still hanging in there ...), so a new edition was certainly needed. I so look forward to sharing it with him this holiday season.
I rank this book easily a solid *5* stars. I truly recommend it becoming one of your holiday traditions with your young children!
