Book Review: Very Decent Work

This book is well written and avoids much of the diversions of other books that have been printed in this field.The book itself is aimed at those just beginning the practise of Medieval Italian Longsword, though those who have more experience will find some useful information to help their own training regimes.
The exercises are well thought out and are easy to follow, though there are no claims to making an instant swordsman out of any one, the claim that this will help an individual develop if they follow the practises is well founded.
The book covers historical context, theory, mental approach as well as some exercises dealing with wide and close plays, both as solo drills and paired drills.
This is a credit to Guy Windsor and I certainly hope that he follows these books with more of the same. There are too few of this sort of book about for western and medieval martial arts
