Book Reviews of The Talisman

Book Review: A sweet and scary page turner
Summary: 5 Stars

I lost a weekend when I picked up this book. From the time that we meet Jack, a real trooper of a pre-adolescent, to the climax of the book (a continent away from the beginning), the reader is making friends and enemies and experiencing unimaginable thrills. One of the things I like about King's books are his characters. And there are a lot of characters in this book to love...and hate! I can't really tell which of the chapters are King and which are Straub, but together, they write a wonderful adventure that's full of suspense, horror, and , indeed, laughter. I've read this book three times!

Book Review: AWESOME!
Summary: 5 Stars

For those of you wanting a "Stephen King-y" book, you may be slightly disappointed.

For those of you who might be turned off from the book because it might be "Stephem King-y", please read it. There is very little true horror/gore in this book, it is more fantastical.

This is one of my FAVORITE BOOKS. And don't forget the sequel, "Black House".

They are making this into a movie, (NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH THE MOVIE "TALISMAN", which is not the same thing)...I'm praying they won't ruin it.

Book Review: Amazing
Summary: 5 Stars

This book is great. As soon as I was done I had to read Black House, which continues this story. Anyone who has read The Tommyknockers may remember the young boy on the beach, and that is the main character of this book. Stephen King tells an excellent story, but it is massive if you realize the significance this has to the Dark Tower series, and with that all of Stepehn King's Universe. He definitly knows how to pull you in.

Book Review: Amazing book
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great book. I can compare it with Homer's 'Oddesey' or Tolkein's 'The Lord Of The Rings'. This is a really good book, and you will fall in love with the characters. I also reccomend 'Black House' which is by King and Straub and is a continuation of 'The Talisman'

Book Review: Amazing....
Summary: 5 Stars

I was a big fan of Stephen King in my teen years (I'm now 35) and read everything by him.....however, I remember being BLOWN over by this book....I've read it twice.....once when I was 16....another time when I was in my early 20's....

Its on my shelf of my best loved books next to "Lonesome Dove" and "Pillars of the Earth" amoung others.....

Now I am reading it again......I am being swallowed up in mutliple worlds and can't put it down....AGAIN: )
