Some people claim this to be Grisham's best. It might be hard to argue against this claim on entertainment value alone- The book is very suspensful and will keep you turning the pages all the way to the end.
The story is of Nate O'Riley--(twice divorced alcoholic who is in trouble with the IRS)who on a last assignment, must go into the Brazilian wetlands to deliver the Will and Testament of Troy Phelan (A Billionaire) to his illigitimate daughter (Rachel Lane-a missionary living with a native tribe).
I found Nate O'Riley particularly interesting because of his character flaws, which he must cope with to be successful on his assignment. The journey into the Brazilian wetlands is very exciting, and the book takes on deeper themes as Nate is inspired to consider his religious views after meeting such a pure-hearted person as Rachel. Also, the exploration of the legal complexities of the case is interesting as is par for Grisham's books. If you are a fan of Grisham, read this book. It won't dissapoint you.
