Book Reviews of The Thief Lord

Book Review: And the Theif Lord steals the 5 stars!!!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

The Theif Lord is about some kids who live in a movie theater called "Starplace". The kids who lived there were abandoned by their parents or ran away. This book takes place in Venice where Scipio steals merchandise for money to make a living for the children. They try their hardest not to get caught by a private detective named Victor, but they do. Although Bo and Prosper are trying to protect themselves from any harm at all,Prosper and Bo are still getting tracked down by their Aunt Esther and their Uncle Max. Our favorite part in this book is when Skipio,Prosper,Bo,Hornet, and Riccio were all going to the island were Barbosa was and find something mysterious and extraordinary and touching in alot of ways. We recommend this book to anyone who likes action and adventure then this is your book.

Book Review: Best Book Ever!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

If you are looking for a very good book then the Thief Lord is the right book for you! It's a very good book and probaly my favorite. It's about some run-away children, a merry-go-round, and a boy who calls himself "The Thief Lord". If you have read this book and liked it then you would probaly like The Series Of Unfortunate Events books. Right now I'm reading Inkheart and I think that it's really good so far....though I'm only on page 7. If you like books about orphans and magic.....READ THIS BOOK!!!!!

Book Review: Better than Inkheart
Summary: 5 Stars

The story started off quite engagingly, though I thought I'd discovered the secret right away (chapter 4!). It turns out I'd only discovered a small secret and the big one was still to come! There's also an element of reality (yes, in a fantasy book!) that struck me. Not everyone is perfectly redeemed, people don't always do the smart thing (but they also aren't made extremely stupid just to advance the plot). Sure, some of the characters are quirky, some are kinder than you'd expect, and there are certainly plot elements with no basis in reality... But that doesn't detract from how grounded the characters are in the real world. The ending isn't trite as I'd feared. All in all this is a terrific book and much better thank Funke's "Inkheart" because "the Thief Lord"'s characters take much more control of their lives.

Book Review: Briliance, Pure and Simple.
Summary: 5 Stars

The Thief Lord is an enchanting tale of five runaway orphans who, with the help of their friend Scipio the "Thief Lord", end up living in the Stella theatre. I myself have always found books set in the United States to be rather... well, boring. Every one of my favorite books and comics are set outside of the U.S. For instance, Inuyasha, set in Feudal Japan, Planet Janet and Harry Potter, set in Britan, and, of course, The Thief Lord, set in Italy. Recently I have become rather picky about what I read, and have found that there are few books that really grab my attention. This book is the first in months that really grabbed me. I really felt as though I were a part of the events, as Cornelia Funke does an excellent job of painting a vivid picture in the reader's mind. I have read many adult books, classics, childrens books, and teens books alike. This book is easily one of the best I have ever read.

Book Review: C Taylors review
Summary: 4 Stars

I think this is the best book ever because of the characters and the suspence. The characters are great because you can relate to them because most of them are kids. This book is about two brothers that have escaped from their aunt and uncle. There is alot of suspence like when they heard about the mistical farris wheel. The book kept me thinking if they were going to find it or not.
