Book Reviews of The Thirteenth Tale: A NovelBook Review: A book that lives up to the hype! Summary: 5 StarsI took this book with me while on jury duty. And finished it in two days. How refreshing to have a book live up to its hype! Fresh story, fresh style, compelling characters. I saw someone refer to this book as a literary ghost story and I agree. "The Thirteenth tale" will not leave you wanting. I guarantee it!
Book Review: Entertaining tosh Summary: 3 StarsThis book is certainly a page-turner, and it's hard to see where it's going - but the final twist is so ludicrous that it rather spoils everything that has gone before it. There are lots of references to Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights and The Turn of the Screw, but The Thirteenth Tale can't really be mentioned in the same breath as these masterpieces. If you're looking for an engrossing read you'll enjoy this; just don't start it expecting great literature or great profundity.
Book Review: Unputdownable Summary: 5 StarsThis book is excellent, written in a vaguely old fashioned style with modern themes. I felt quite forlorn once I had finished it, wanting to know more.
Book Review: Over hyped and uninteresting Summary: 1 StarsAfter hearing a lot about this book I decided to give it a try - I found the first thirty pages or so fascinating... but then slowly the story unravelled and I found myself being less and less interested. To be honest, I can't see how this book has such aclaim - it's not original, unusual or even interesting in the least. I'd put it on par with books you'd find for £2 on a rack at an airport or post office. Wouldn't recommend it.
Book Review: i loved this book Summary: 5 StarsI really enjoyed this book, and you get so envolved in the story, i just couldn't put it don't, i think if you love Jane Eyre or Rebecca you will love this, the story that unfolds, you get to use your imagination, its great for a winters evening.
