Every interview i saw of Brendan was him basically turning every question into plugging his Vega foods. I then heard that this book was nothing like it. Although he sometimes writes "you can use Vega for this recipe rather than making it from scratch" he does say what people need to make it themselves which is great.
So many great aspects of the book and probably the most useful, for me, is the chapter "staple foods for the thrive diet." There he talks about the most important foods vegans, or anyone, should be using to be eating the most nutritious meals around. I was thinking about just checking it out from the library, but it was on hold for a long time so i just brought it and boy am i glad i did. Definitely want to keep this book around for references, recipes, and to explain to people why you eat certain things. Very impressed by this book.

Love this book. Lots of information that is well written & explained. Includes lots of great recipes in the book. This is a great book for the person who thinks that being an athlete you must eat meat, so not true & this book will help people under that misconception understand how awesome they can excel on a vegan diet.
Book Review: Good but..... Summary: 2 StarsThe concept is good and how hi marketed is just brilliant.
But he is now selling his own products what is not "natural" in of terms of eating fresh vegan food.
The second failure is that he is not tells nothing about B12 what is unforgivable for my point of view if you do such a book about proper nutrition and with analytical systems.
Personally I think that was a good way to cash in the yeas of training after he stopped.
Go to the [...] these guys doing much better job for 30 years or more.

Book Review: The Thrive Diet-Perfect in every way! Summary: 5 StarsThis book is perfect at least for the true vegan/macrobiotic athlete looking to maintain their belief that they don't need to consume animal/dairy/soy products to enjoy a higher level of performance. It gave this bicyclist many new food options that has made a noticeable difference. Actually, you don't need to be an athlete to benefit from many of the recipes. A simple desire to eat healthier foods is all that's required. I very much recommend this book to all looking to improve their health as well as their outlook on life!
