I remember Buddy before the rest of the world heard of him. He knew how good he was but he was not a braggert, something which is not clear in his book. He agreed to dance a part in a magnificent production of South Pacific at Miller Outdoor Theatre, the only completely free theatre in the country that provides world-class ballet, opera, symphony, and musicals. However, he agreed to do the special dance for the boar's tooth ceremony if he could avoid the usual half-hour call for performers and arrive half hour before HIS performance and not stay for the curtain calls. Only those of us who knew him even knew he was in the show. It was a fabulous performance. The traveling show of South Pacific has NO Boar's Tooth Ceremony production because there are so few dancers capable of doing it well. (And it is a BIG production within a big production.) I'll never forget the entire production (a real waterfall and pool) or Buddy's dance. Although the book is written in first-person Patrick, I think Lisa had a lot to do with the writing. She is once again being the director and partner, not the star. Theirs is a beautiful love story that ended with his death, not mentioned in the book.
The book was in the perfect condition promised by the seller.
