Summary: 4 Stars

I was given this to read when I went away for a break. Not only did I get drawn in within the first couple of pages I found that the story well written, with unexpected twists and turns. The story is topical and easy to relate to and the characters are wholly believable. One of those books you thing about when finished - thoroughly enjoyable!

If you want a good, well written holiday book then get this - even my partner enjoyed it!

Book Review: A great romantic novel for leisure and pleasure!
Summary: 5 Stars

"The Truth About Fairy Tales" first caught my attention because the synopsis of the book mentioned Venice. I was on the design team for Venetian hotel and casino in Las Vegas and I am fond of Venice.

"The Truth About Fairy Tales" is a great romantic novel set in some of the most beautiful cities in the world: Venice, Southern France, London and Hollywood. Beautiful and sexy Cate McCormack's has made it as a successful novelist, but deep in her heart, she still feels some emptiness, until she meets two important men of her life, Jack Wyatt and Andrei Siwek. Jack is a wealthy American producer. Andrei is a handsome young man who works near Cate's flat in London. Jack and Andrei both like Cate and vie for her love. Adding to the mix are Annie and Kasia. Annie is Jack's young and pretty assistant, who is attracted to Andrei. Kasia was Andrei's gorgeous former girl friend. Media attention, fragile self-esteem, friendship, love, and jealousy mingle together and create a series of intriguing events. Will Cate choose Jack or Andrei? Will Andrei go back to Kasia? You have to read the novel to find out.

I also like the modest landscape theme of the book cover design. You can carry this steamy romantic novel around and read it in any public places without feeling embarrassed.

"The Truth About Fairy Tales" has 404 pages. It is a modern tale of a search for true love and a fascinating novel that explores romance and sexuality. It is a great read for leisure and pleasure!

Book Review: brilliant book, very enjoyable
Summary: 5 Stars

Don't judge a book by its cover, that is very much the point you have to take into consideration with this novel. While it may appear to be about fairytales, it is actually not about fairies and other such beings at all but amazingly romance for the modern, older woman.

Having had too many past relationships fail, writer Cate McCormack instead puts her heart and soul into the books she writes. Relationships just maybe aren't for her anymore despite her inner yearning for the right man...

However soon beautiful Cate meets two charming men, handsome princes in her eyes, who are also wealthy. Andrei, one of the men, works near Cate's flat in London while the other, Jack, is an American producer. They are both tempting proposals but complicated. Jack's young assistant Annie is attracted to Andrei and as for Andrei himself he brings with him his own baggage. A former girlfriend who is stunning.

Who will Cate choose to be her prince charming? Will Andrei go back to the arms of his ex or will Cate's love be enough for him? And how will Jack fair? Will there be love produced between him and Cate?

This steamy book is romantic and very enjoyable. Not the usual fairytale angle that you'd necessarily come across. It focuses more on the problems many relationships suffer from - age differences and different backgrounds to each couple. The characters throughout weren't too false, they were real and rounded and intriguing to the reader. In fact it is easy to get caught up in their lives and the story is one that keeps you hooked. It doesn't focus on the angle that makes out everything is rose-tinted which should be refreshing to most readers.

This is a syrupy yet poignant-at-times book about the struggles of older women in today's world. The locations are exotic set in Hollywood, London, Venice and Southern France. It is also a good length for a novel of this type, not too short and not too long. The smooth way in which K.T writes this is another thing that I loved. It is a free-flowing read that isn't too complicated and easy for the reader to absorb.

I liked almost all of this read but the sexual content did put me off a little. This is only my opinion, others may like it so don't let me be the judge. An uplifting book with an attractive, pretty cover. Enjoyable even if you don't normally go after this type.
