Book Reviews of The Ultimate Rice Cooker Cookbook : 250 No-Fail Recipes for Pilafs, Risottos, Polenta, Chilis, Soups, Porridges, Puddings and More, from Start to Finish in Your Rice Cooker (Non)

Book Review: Best for fancy rice cookers
Summary: 3 Stars

If you have a computerized rice cooker, you'll probably get a lot of value from this book. If, however, you have a simple rice cooker (non-computerized) then you'll find very few usable recipes.

Book Review: Best rice cooker companion
Summary: 5 Stars

I just bought a fuzzy logic rice cooker // this book is the best // the recipes are great

Book Review: Big Disappointment
Summary: 1 Stars

Totally mundane recipes, most of which can be found or modified from any rice-cooker-supplied recipe book. Nothing very creative.

MOST ANNOYINGLY: the PRINT is in an ORANGE and VERY LIGHT BLUE that strains the eyes horribly and makes it very difficult and unpleasant to read. If you think this is a minor complaint just wait until you try it!!!

TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY!

Book Review: Complicated Cooking
Summary: 2 Stars

Why I don't like this cookbook:
1. Too many ingredients that are not available: I live in a small town with one grocery store. You need an Asian market next-door to make half the recipes
2. High in fat: Veggie recipes to feed four start with six tablespoons of butter. Chicken marinades have a cup of oil.
3. No nutrition information
4. Assumes everyone has two steamer trays
5. Complicated recipes where you need to cook in four phases and use food processors, blenders, etc.

Book Review: Cookbook is a Big Help
Summary: 4 Stars

I haven't tried anything except rice dishes so far, but I think the cookbook is a great value. It gave me a lot of ideas for recipes I can make. I would buy the cookbook if I were getting the cooker.
