Book Reviews of The Unbearable Lightness of Being: Twentieth Anniversary Edition

Book Review: realtionships from a man's perspective
Summary: 5 Stars

The statement "You always know when you meet the right one" might sound like a cliche'. But have you ever wondered that to become cliches there must have been some truths? The inimitable style of Milan Kundera ponders on the paradox of finding our soul mate through the not always impeccable experiences of his book's main character.

Book Review: The best book about relations af all time.
Summary: 5 Stars

I have no words to say about this book. I' ve read it twice and I think I'll read it again. Thank you Mr. Kundera.

Book Review: AMAZING
Summary: 5 Stars

It's one of the best books of the second half of the century. As a work of literature it's simply amazing. The carachters are realistic and the are each one like an instrument in a work of music. Kundera uses music, philosophy and literature to create this wonderful work of art. This book has changed my way of seeing things. This is the only book that I've read six times and I will continue to read it and discover it each time.

Book Review: An unforgettable reading experience
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a book you will want to read again and again. It is quite beautifully written and the early pages are particularly memorable as the narrator defines the "lightness" referred to in the title. At points you can so identify with the well drawn characters that you will be moved to emotion. Like an earlier reviewer I too rank this book very highly.

Book Review: A thought provoking novel.
Summary: 4 Stars

The story revolves around two central characters and, on one level, is no more than an insight into their daily lives, on the other, it is a well thought out look at the human psyche.

Throughout the telling of the story, and various sub-plots, the author interjects various thoughts and themes, some gathered from philosophers, some offered as passing thought. It is these which make this book remarkable. I have never read a novel which has provoked so much reaction from myself and other friends who have read it.

The story itself is well told, and would stand well on its own, however it is the philosophical debates the author enters into which make the book great.
