Book Reviews of The Very Hungry Caterpillar (MINIATURE EDITION)Book Review: The Very Hungry Child Summary: 5 StarsThe Very Hungry Caterpillar is a beautifully illustrated, simply told story of a caterpillar who turns into a butterfly. The caterpillar eats through everything and the book actually has holes through all the food; my 8 month old daughter is fascinated at the colours, the repetition of the STILL hungry part and the holes that she tries to fit her fingers through. She gets very excited as the last page draws nearer and the beautiful butterfly is revealed. This book is a classic; I loved it as a child and it will continue to be loved by children twenty years from now. A wonderful book for children...of all ages! This is a must have.
Book Review: My son's favorite book Summary: 5 StarsThis has been my two year old son's favorite book for about the last six months. He wants me to read it again and again. He is now learning to count and with each of the fruits he counts them out loud...1,2,3,4,5 oranges. And he always gets excited when we come to the part about the butterfly! This is a must-have for kids one to three years old.
Book Review: Wonderful starter book for little readers Summary: 5 StarsMy son has "latched" onto this book, and won't let go! He's two, but he reads it to me when he gets the chance, with extreme emphasis on the BUT HE WAS STILL HUNGRY, and the BIG FAT CATERPILLAR parts. He is able to name off the Saturday foods now, and I am very proud of him. If I ever get the chance to thank Eric Carle, I will, for encouraging children's love to read! Plan to get a small, traveling version soon (mine is the 8x13) to read in the car. [...]
Book Review: My daughter's favorite Summary: 5 StarsThis delightful book makes my 7-month-old squeal with delight every time we take it out to read to her. She loves the picture on the cover, and she loves putting her finger through the little holes. We parents like the cautionary tale of not over-indulging our appetites. This is one of our favorite books for beginning readers, and I think it's Eric Carle's finest.
Book Review: Great book Summary: 4 StarsI have children aged 5,3 & 1 year. My 3 year old loves this book the best as a story. My 5 year old enjoys trying to "read" it. The repetition in this book is great & the pictures help the children to "read." My children are also picking up the concept of DAYS OF THE WEEK and this book is a lot of help in that area. My 1 year old just likes to here me read & the repetition keeps her listening intently.
