Book Review: A Slice of Vice

This book is exactly what it says it is, a giant photo book. It has brief portfolios from the magazine's major photogs (Terry Richardson, etc) as well as large sections of photos divided by subject matter. (Music, Fashion, Journalism) The overall quality of the photography naturally varies, but there are some truly interesting shots. I was very pleased with this purchase.
My one gripe is that the paper stock changes from glossy to a coarser paper a few times within the book. (It's about 50/50, maybe fewer glossy pages) Presumably this was done to cut down on costs. It's not terrible, but pictures on the normal paper look rather faded compared to the photos on the glossy stock. I got used to it though.
FYI, the MSRP is $45. I think that price is just about right. It's a very entertaining book to flip through, perfect for the coffee table.
