A classic tale that has earned its place.
So you've seen the movie, but never read the book... Should you bother? If you're at all serious about your sci-fi, or just curious why one tale has had so many incarnations (2 movies, radio-play, and musical) then wonder no more. You should read it, if but only to form your own opinion on the original story.
War of the Worlds holds themes that come across as quaint as the language used, yet still remain pertinent. Simply, as a story, it is dated but relevant.
Short and pacy, a quick and enjoyable read. Great for passing time on a commute, and deserving of its place in sci-fi history.
