Book Reviews of The Wednesday Letters

Book Review: A book you can read over and over again
Summary: 5 Stars

I loved The Wednesday Letters. It stands as one of my favorite books. It captures the essence of the family that is brought together by their parents' deaths so well. It's an inspiring story about regret, remembrance, love and finding out who you are in life. I've read this multiple times and given it to people as gifts because it has struck me as such a timeless novel. It's funny yet brings about truths in the novel that are welcomed by a reader with an open heart. The letters are fascinating to read and I love the story that unfolds with the letters and the current situation in the book. I would definitely pick this up-- It's great.

Book Review: A great read!
Summary: 4 Stars

The characters in this book are lovable. You feel connected to the family in an instant. The Cooper family has its share of troubles. They are disconnected and all searching for answers to life's questions. When the family is devastated by the death of their parents the children must come together through a process of grief, forgiveness and love. A great read for those who want a slight tearjerker. Some of the characters seem to lack the history that should be there for the reader to connect, but Malcolm, however, has the strongest history and the story rightfully focuses on him in the end. Overall the book was a good read. It has a slow beginning but keeps you intrigued with the letters and the mysteries that evolve from them. Would definitely recommend it for a Romanticist.

Book Review: A must read for the new year
Summary: 5 Stars

I don't usually write reviews - but I loved this book and want to share my opinion with you. It's a wonderful story about love and forgiveness and how they often go hand in hand. I laughed and cried through the whole thing. I've recommended it to all my friends and now to you.

Book Review: A nice book and easy reading but lacking depth
Summary: 3 Stars

This started out as a great love story. Like many of you I was dreaming of getting my own Wednesday Letters. But there were too many holes in the story. What was the point of Nathan and there was no depth to the love story of Malcolm and Rain. The end turned too preachy with everyone being saved by the love of Jack and Laurel. I couldn't wait to get to the epilogue, a letter in an envelope neatly tucked on the back cover. It was not the warm and fuzzy feeling I was hoping for.

Book Review: A story of love and forgiveness
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a story about families, forgiveness, and love. When the owners of a successful bed and breakfast in Virginia die, their three grown children find a previously unknown large cache of letters written from their father to their mother each and every Wednesday throughout their marriage. Through reading the letters, old secrets were revealed about family and friends. The love and healing of this family are subsequently passed on to and through their children. A lovely and satisfying read.
