Book Reviews of The Well : David's Story

Book Review: David's Story
Summary: 5 Stars

I've read "Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry" and "Let the Cirlce Be Unbroken", and loved them both. Because I liked them so much, I decided to look for some other books by Mildred D. Taylor. The fist one I came across was "The Well: David's Story". I was able to read it within an hour and a half but it was just as good as the other novels I've read by Mildred D. Taylor and I can't wait to read more! I highly recommend any book by Taylor for readers young and old. Her stories teach a lesson that people don't understand in today's world. They really make you think about life in the 1930's and how your life would be different. Taylor is now one of my favorite authors.

Book Review: Really good book...
Summary: 5 Stars

This book is good if you want to know more about how black people were treated. It has some bad language and it will make you mad but you keep reading.

Book Review: Respect
Summary: 3 Stars

This story is about two little boys and a fathers troubled past. When Charlie simms tests the Logan family's generosity so the logan families son Hammer will fight him. The Simms families son Charlie Simms does not like the Logans because they are a different color. I liked this book because it teaches you to respect others. It also teaches you to respect other races. I think this book had a comparison to '' Bud not Buddy'' and '' Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry'' because some of the people in those stories are racial and cant learn to be respectful.

Book Review: 5 Stars

"The Well" is a good book, it shows segregation in the early 1900s and how black people were treated. The book is mainly about two black kids, named David and Hammer Logan, who are having trouble with their white neighbors, the Simms. The oldest Simms boy, Charlie, he is the biggest problem for them. I thought that this book was a good book because it was easy to read and understand. Also, it was hard to put it down. I also liked this book because had a really good ending. I thought it was a great book, a must read book.
