Book Review: OK - not as good as his earlier books

I bought this because I enjoyed his first two books but found this one a little bit too far fetched to be really enjoyable. I felt that it was a bit of a struggle to reach the end whereas Total Control was a real gripper from start to finish. Just brilliant! I'd only read Absolute Power before this one and loved it, but this one is even better. While John Grisham can't quite live up to his early work anymore, David Baldacci has entered the scene and taken it over. Picked off the shelf at random, I have just ordered the other books by the same author. The Winner has a good plotline which just manages to keep you guessing as the story unfolds. The Winner was the first David Baldacci book I read and was certainly the most exciting read in my last 5 years worth of books. The plot was absolutely gripping - it really would make an excellent film. After reading The Winner I had to buy his other books immediately!Book Review: Excellent read, difficult to put down.

I agree entirely with a previous reviewer in that this book would make an excellent film. Absolute Power and Total Control were good but this was the best I have read to date. Off to order The Simple Truth and Saving Faith now.
