Book Reviews of The WinnerBook Review: Superb Summary: 5 StarsI have bought a couple of David Baldacci books and always try to find excuses not to start them. Of course as soon as I get round to it I am always surprised when they are so good. This is a superb book - A fantastic page gripping start , sags just a little in the middle and a great ending. I defy you not to enjoy this book
Book Review: Be careful of the reviews you read ... Summary: 1 StarsI am not sure what book the other reviewers were reading but it wasn't the same book I read. With dodgy pacing, and awful dialogue, this book can't be saved by it's premise.Save yourself some time and read something else!
Book Review: Fantastic!!! Summary: 5 StarsThis is one of the best books I have ever read. You could really feel for LuAnn Tyler and wanted everything to work out for her. This was my 1st book by David Baldacci and it prompted me to buy more of his work. Try 'Split Second'-Excellent! 'Absolute Power'-couldn't put it down. I've ordered more of his work today on Amazon and can't wait to get started.
Book Review: Wow!!! Summary: 5 StarsThis has to be one of the most exciting and gripping books I've ever read!! It would make a great movie. It was the first of Baldacci's books I've read and I was so taken by it, I've now read 2 others as well!
If you're in two minds about this book, don't be!! I can't recommend it highly enough!
Book Review: This is one of the worst books I've ever read Summary: 1 StarsHaving read and enjoyed "Last Man Standing" a true fast paced, action-packed thriller, I was really looking forward to reading this book last week; I shouldn't have bothered.
I was on holiday and ready to spend a lazy afternoon by the pool with a nice chilled glass of rosé and a good ripping yarn. Within about a dozen pages, I began to feel disappointed.
This book has one of the most stupid central premises I have ever come across. This poor central core is then made worse by sloppy characterisation, shoddy plot development (absolutely no pace and then what could have been interesting plot twists either signposted chapters in advance or just thrown away) and wooden dialogue.
My advice to anyone considering purchasing this book is don't bother.
