Book Reviews of The Winner

Book Review: ANOTHER WINNER!
Summary: 4 Stars

I got hooked on David Baldacci"s CAMEL CLUB and then HOUR GAME... now I look for anything he has written and am never disappointed...... One of our best authors today.

Book Review: Above average plot with intricate developments, but it was missing the wow factor. Good but not great.
Summary: 4 Stars

REVIEWER'S OPINION:
To let readers know where I'm coming from, my preferred genre is romance novels. The fact that I liked this should mean something since it is off genre for me. Throughout the book there was the underlying frustration of how can anyone ever stop this bad guy, but he gets it eventually. The story was excellent mechanically with good showing not telling. I would have liked more emotional draw to the characters. Not necessary, but I also would have liked more witty or thought provoking dialogue. I liked the LuAnn character a lot. She was physically very strong. Her strength of mind and body actually scared some men.

CAUTION SPOILERS:
There were a couple parts that were a little too convenient to the plot for me. Jackson wanted to kill Charlie and LuAnn. He should have shot them, but he chose to do things that they could survive.

DATA:
Story length: 626 pages. Swearing language: moderate. Sexual language: none. Number of sex scenes: 2. Total number of sex scene pages: 2. Setting: current day mostly Georgia, New York City, Virginia, and Washington D.C. Copyright: 1997. Genre: action suspense thriller.

Book Review: Absolutely Fabulous!
Summary: 5 Stars

This book was one of the best suspense novels i've read in a LOOONG time. I personally want to pat the author on the back if i ever had the chance. THe character "Jackson" was so unbelievably cold and remarkably intelligent, you almost want to be him, despite the fact that he's the villain! Or at least I did. And a book about money...earning money, the way people do things or manipulate people to gain more money, etc. It was a flawless, edge-of your-seat novel to me!

Book Review: Absolutely Wonderful
Summary: 5 Stars

I didn't want to finish this book, I enjoyed it so much. It's been a long time since I could say that, and a lot of books later. I'm hoping another one of Balduccis' books are just as good and tastefully written. I really liked the fact that there wasn't much vulgarity or explicit sex and it was still exciting. Someone wrote that Matt was boring. Really! Has your boyfriend or husband done any of that for you lately?

Book Review: Amazing! Kinda complex and branchy, but amazing.
Summary: 4 Stars

Jackson has got to be one clever deciever! Fortunately, LuAnn is smarter! It's amazing seeing how she has to undergo all this torture just to get her name cleared and that rat Jackson off her back! I'll probably never look at any lottery the same way again! Even though it was a significantly long novel, I was able to finish it in about a week. I hope I will win at least $100 someday, and I'll think about this book.
