Book Reviews of The Witch in Every Woman: Reawakening the Magical Nature of the Feminine to Heal, Protect, Create, and EmpowerBook Review: AWESOME BOOK! Summary: 5 StarsThis book was the first book on wicca I ever read. Through this great book I have learned some of the infromation I've always had questions about. I would recomend this book to anyone who is interested in learning the ways of the craft and even to those who are wicca curious. I had really no idea what I was going to be learning when I just said "Buy it!" Now I have gone on to be a wiccan. This is just a awesome book and all of Laurie Cabots' books are great.! She did a great job, and hopefully will do more in the future! I hope this helps you choose this book to read. Brightest Blessings!
Book Review: Witch In Every Woman Summary: 5 StarsThis book is an excellent way to find yourself and gain a sense of pride in being a woman. I thought it was wonderful and enjoyed the stories thoroughly and I'm not even a Wiccan. Anyway, it's a great book, comforting and entertaining. Great for people who might feel put down for their religous choices or even just their gender.
Book Review: a pretty good read Summary: 3 Starsi liked this book...i have recently become interested in learning about witchcraft and have read a little and i have found that sometimes people take shaky theories and psuedo-history as fact...cabot didn't do this too much, which i appreciated. her adaptions of the stories are fairly accurate, but the originals (in translation) aren't that hard to read, if you want to get the real thing, primary text-wise...i liked a lot of her general theories on life, i particulary appreciated how they didn't exclude people who weren't witches. It often read like a self-help book and i think, a fairly effective one. at any rate, it has got me wanting to learn more on the subject.
Book Review: Fair and Interesting Summary: 3 StarsThough well written and certainly geared to women there is a little too much negativism regarding males. Most modern women will agree that we are empowered in many ways and are just beginning to tap into our natural talents. Laurie's expression is reflective of her own life experiences, and should be kept in that perspective. This is not a how to book for wannabe witches or wiccans. It at times presents itself as an autobiographical account of Laurie's own personal awakening which to publish does take courage and conviction. The myths and stories are not entirely accurate but the essence is preserved. An ok read if you want to add this book to your bookshelf. Not a reference manual.
Book Review: awakening Summary: 5 Starsif you want to know what being a woman is all about than read this book. it teaches women to love themselves for who they are and not by male standards. it has meditations, spells, and stories in it. it talks about sex, have children or not having children, breast feeding. over all its an excellent book
