Book Review: Sidetracked again

It's becoming something of a Paulo Coelho trait to ruin the interesting, original stories he has created by weaving spirituality into the life of the characters unnecessarily and then refusing to move away from the subject, much to the irritation of the reader who, I'd imagine, just wants him to get on with the story. He did it in "The Zahir" and he's doing it again here. The wonderful touches of wisdom which normally make his work a joy to read are there too, but they can't save him this time, I'm afraid. A real disappointment.
