Book Review: A complete joke

If exercise were truly this easy, no one would ever need to seek out another facial exercise program again. The exercises in this book are in fact a complete and utter joke. The Bumblebees which are supposed to tone the cheeks, jawline and lips is way too funny. Yet, it IS used by Carole Maggio in her wonderful Facercise book to relax the face in between exercises. But, she does not pretend it's that easy to create a more youthful face! This book is written to make you believe that all you need to do is look up at the ceiling and strike a pose and relax all of your tension in your face and you'll look younger. Come on ~ remember the old addage no pain, no gain? Well, when you use an exercise program based upon resistence like Facercise or others you WILL SEE results, but yoga poses do not create more youthful FACES. It is actually necessary to feel the lactic acid burn in order for facial or other muscles to grow and hence lift. You need to build muscles to create a more youthful look because you are compensating for fat and collagen loss in the face. I thought I'd look into this book as an adjunct to Facercise, but it is nothing more than a joke. It's quirky and dreamy at best, but not based upon any exercise science that makes any sense at all. The Baby Bird is another example of striking a pose and expecting a miracle to occur (no matter where you put your tongue in cheek). It's just not going to happen. Save your time and money and pick up a copy of Carole Maggio's Facercise. That book and her program work the facial muscles to a more youthful, glowing and lifted look and it will not disappoint!
