I'm not a great reader of fiction and mainly read this because it was about people in an advertising agency (which is where I work).
The writing style is particularly interesting. The book is narrated from the first person plural - all observations are about 'us'. However, the narrator isn't introduced (at least not as far as I've gotten through it).
The author brilliantly illustrates how people can get caught up in gossip and the boring details of the day job. Makes me laugh without resorting to cheap pranks - it's a good illustration of the collapse of a good team.
The actual industry isn't important in the book - merely working in an office is good enough to relate to the stories.
Definitely worth a read.
