Book Reviews of There's a Wocket in My Pocket! (Dr. Seuss's Book of Ridiculous Rhymes)Book Review: My kid has to figure out the rhyming word. Summary: 5 StarsI had this book for years, and as I've read it to my kids many times over, until yesterday, I did not realize the treasure in this book.
My second kid is at a level where he is getting comfortable with reading short books by himself. And as he was reading it, in the beginning, I myself was reluctant of the book, then I realized the he had to figure out the wacky Dr. Seuss's rhymes and match it to the places of the house. This in turn forces the reader to think of the phonics as he peruses for the word he knows on the bottom of the page.
I know my kid will outgrow the book soon, but before he does, he will have it read to me many times over and he will be confident of the fact that he is able to read another book.
Book Review: In a Peoples house Summary: 3 StarsI thought that this book was ok because it teaches little kids what is in a house and what you should look for if you were ever in a different and or strangers house.
Book Review: The Little Engine That Could Summary: 4 StarsI thought this nook was cool because it shows liitle kids that if you thry hard enough you can acomplish what you want to do and maybe even be able to set tweo goals. It also shows that the impossible is possible.
Book Review: Wacky Wedensday Summary: 4 StarsI like this book because it is funny and it is kindof like an I spy book for little kids. It gets their minds going and may make them smarter.
Book Review: NOT the book you know and love! Summary: 1 StarsThis is a nice enough board book, but be advised that it is NOT the full version of Dr. Seuss' book! They've left out several (charming!) pages of text and illustrations for the Board Book... What a disappointment to loyal fans, and how unfair to the newest generation of fans-to-be.
