Book Review: A Light Read - VERY Light

NOTE TO ALL READERS - please note that R.A. Forczyk is a co-author of many of Osprey Publishing's books so his review comes with an obvious bias.
After ordering this book I was excited to know there was a book specifically about the battle at Thermopylae and Leonidas. I was under the impression (as the title suggests) it would be a book outlining the battle moment by moment, strike by strike but found a book with a lot of peripheral information and a very, very short discourse on the battle itself.
I was disappointed to say the least.
I would recommend this book as a CHILDS reference book but definitely not one for adults. An interesting read but lacking body and substance. I would not recommend this book for adults. I would recommend you acquire one of the other books about this battle if you wish to gain a deeper knowledge of the battle at Thermopylae and Leonidas and the 300. Books authored by Rupert Mathews, Paul Cartledge, Ernle Bradford or even the novel by Gates of Fire by Steven Pressfield, are more worthy than this book.
In a nutshell, don't waste your money on this book.
