Book Reviews of These Three Remain: A Novel of Fitzwilliam Darcy, GentlemanBook Review: Worth the wait Summary: 4 StarsI had a little trouble getting into Duty and Desire, the second book in this series, mostly because of the obvious lack of Elizabeth Bennett actually appearing. This third book, however was worth the wait. It covers our favorie parts of P&P, but with all of the fun of finally knowing what Mr. Darcy was really thinking. And we get to really know Georgianna. She's so cute you want to take her home with you. And the relationship between her and Darcy is so refreshing. It's also nice to have a P&P novel that is true to Austen's style of writing...no heavy bedroom scenes or anything like that. I felt I was truly reading a sequel to P&P. My ONLY complaint is that there were some rare moments that the lengthy description had me skipping ahead to the next paragraph to get to the point. Otherwise, SO WORTH THE READ!
Book Review: my favorite of the trilogy Summary: 5 StarsI think this is the best of the trilogy. I loved Darcy's change of character towards his sister and his friends. He is humble and funny. Awesome cap to a great series. I have read book one and three a couple of times now, and continue to love them. Aidan didn't just recycle Austen's work, she made is deaper and more complex on the side of Darcy. I can now see why Elizabeth loves him. I hope she writes another!
Book Review: The Final..... But hope there's MORE Summary: 4 StarsThis was the final book of Aidan series(Which I hope she continues).
I enjoyed this book. Mr. Darcy's feelings and thoughts are well spelled out in this book as well as, the other two previous to this one. I enjoyed seeing the struggles Darcy is facing when he thinks about and sees Lizzy. Aidan does a good job with keeping the story moving in most spots and keeps with the her characters roles and relationships as within the first two books. If you don't read book #2 you can be lost at some of the characters appearances in this book.
Seeing Darcy's feelings for Georgiana and thier relationship blossoming is exquisited. The scene when Darcy discovers Lizzy at Pemberely..... heartwarming! Everything Darcy had to go through and where he had to go to keep the Bennet name out of ruin. You can appreciate the struggles Darcy goes though to get the women he loves.
The reason for four&1/2 stars.... I only give 5 stars for books I CAN'T PUT DOWN. I found I could on this book at some points.
In my opinion, if you are a true Austen fan you WILL NOT enjoy this series. But is you enjoy the period of time and anything P&P, you will like this.
Book Review: Difficult language Summary: 2 StarsThis book seems written in the style of Jane Austin, not Georget Hayer.
I have tried to get into it but find the prose too diffficult to proceed I intend to proceed some day but for now I must leave till I am in a better mood. Or my tastes have improved
Book Review: waste of time Summary: 1 StarsI appreciate her effort, but how can anyone improve on what is almost perfect. Re-read her (Austen's) novels. No one can imitate her style and wit and writing and come anywhere close. I am baffled by all these glowing reviews!
