Book Reviews of These Three Remain: A Novel of Fitzwilliam Darcy, GentlemanBook Review: These three remain Summary: 3 StarsThis one of the trio was very slow moving and repetious. I didn't find it as interesting as the first two.
Book Review: Gutsy Challenge! Summary: 5 StarsBecause of the amazing original story, Pride and Prejudice, I consider it a very gutsy thing for anyone to consider extending, improving, or idealizing 'the rest of the story'. Pamela Aiden accomplished all of the above with class a clarity! I love how she stayed with, for the most part, Jane Austen's idea of Fitzwilliam Darcy. She gave every character in the original book more personality and even created some more that are very intriguing!! I'd love to read more about Dy Brougham and Georgiana! Even if it were different books! Her creation of Fletcher was just awesome!! What an excellent writer!
This is my favorite volume of the series. It begins with Darcy and Elizabeth meeting at Rosings. I love the detail added here. It truly fills in the blanks for you to enjoy. It continues with his dealing with rejection, sharing his secret with Georgiana and Dy, (now you will know why she wanted to meet Elizabeth!), and the changes that slowly begin to take place in him. (I love the insight into the portraits of Darcy and Georgiana!)
Your emotions will soar as he and Elizabeth meet again at Pemberly! And I love the way Pamela writes about Darcy's search for Lydia! Excellent! The ending is FANTABULOUS! From Darcy admitting to his trying to derail Bingly and Jane, to his manuever to get back to Netherfield, and his quest to court Lizzy, is just plain good writing!
This is clean and classy and the only reader that will be disappointed is the one who wants to be entertained with sex scenes. Well done, Pamela Aiden!!
Book Review: Uncommonly Perfect Ending of a Trilogy! Summary: 5 StarsTHESE THREE REMAIN is the third book of a trilogy of Pride and Prejudice that details what every Jane Austen fan wishes she would have expanded upon.
This trilogy is well worth reading; begin with AN ASSEMBLY SUCH AS THIS, then DUTY AND DESIRE with THESE THREE REMAIN as an excellent ending!
Book Review: A Worthy Read Summary: 5 StarsThis is the conclusion in the Darcy trilogy, and it was definitely the best one yet. Is that because of the writing or because it culminates in the happily ever after? I think it's a bit of both. Aidan's Darcy is far more romantic than in the original book, and part of his appeal (to me anyway) was always his aloofness and enigmatic character. Anyway, Aidan does a really wonderful job of filling us in on Darcy's life outside of his interactions with Elizabeth; we see how he went about hunting down and dealing with Wickham, how he makes right the situation with Charles Bingley, and his further interaction with Lady Catherine. This book contains what I think is the most pivotal scene in the story-Elizabeth's rejection of Darcy's proposal. This is the catalyst for the change in his character, and by the end of this book we definitely have a different man. The end was a bit .. syrupy.. for my taste, but overall it was a wonderful read and by far the best set of books to complete the P&P story.
Book Review: can't put it down Summary: 5 Starsa wonderful book, keep in mind once you start to read it you will not be able to put it down
