Book Review: A Book of Courageous Thinkers

"Everyone has a special destiny, but few reach it," writes Sid Roth in the introduction. This compilation of the experiences of ten people from diverse Jewish backgrounds shows a common thread can be found in their quest for answers. When a person experiences a supernatural manifestation, no argument can negate it. David Yaniv, who was healed by Yeshua the Messiah writes, "we know from the Bible that even when people saw Jesus perform miracles right before their eyes, they didn't believe." He points out elsewhere, "I found that the prophecies from the Old Testament are fulfilled in the new Testament. And I started to wonder why Jewish people throughout the centuries had not believed in Jesus" (p. 23).
Sharon R. Allen (aka Sura Rifka) writes, "In addition, Yeshua, Jesus' Hebrew name, means 'salvation.' Everywhere in the Jewish Bible and our Jewish Holy Prayer books, whenever the word 'salvaion' appears, we are saying Jesus' Hebrew name, Yeshua" (p. 100).
Dr. Michael L. Brown says, "Judaism as we know it today is not the religion of the Torah as much as it is the religion of rabbinic tradition." He adds, "for many of our people, human tradition is more important than biblical truth" (p. 144). This book goes into detail on how a perceived "oral traditional" that was passed down generationally is actually a misconception.
