Incredible. This book has been around for ages and has proven the power of the mindset. A must read for anyone who can read.
Book Review: Arguably the best book of its theme. Summary: 5 Stars
A lot has been said on Hill's work. And I fully believe in the power of this book and the great philosophy contained in it, although to fully benefit from it you need to be familiar with the works of the likes of Abraham Maslow, Stephen Covey, and perhaps Anthony Robins. Those works are complimentary; stand alone, none is self sufficient.
I will like to comment in detail on something Hill has included in his discussion on Faith with reference to Gandhi. He states: "Gandhi wields more potential power than any man living at this time..... He created it out of his understanding of the principle of Faith, and through his ability to transplant that faith into the minds of two hundred million people..... He has accomplished the astounding feat of INFLUENCING two hundred million minds to COALESCE AND MOVE IN UNISON, AS A SINGLE MIND."
This book was first published in 1937, and what Hill observes in these statements might have seemed true at that time. But ten years later it was not. A new reality had dawned, which had refuted these statements. Jinnah had risen as the undisputed leader of Muslim India and, behind him the united Muslim India had accomplished what history had never seen before, a sovereign state coming into existence based on an ideological identity, Pakistan.
Nehru was the Leader of Indian National Congress, and his son became the first Prime Minister of India after independence from British, and later his grand daughter Indira Gandhi also became the Prime Minister. His Sister VL Pundit, also a leader of Congress emphatically said: "If Muslim League had had a hundred Gandhis and a hundred Nehrus, and Congress had only one Muhammad Ali Jinnah, India would not have divided.
Coincidentally, Gandhi did not fail only in that he lost to Jinnah and Muslims of India. His own nation failed him by shattering all his teachings of non-violence. When Pakistan came into existence in 1947, the Hindus of India, in organized operations in areas of Muslim minority, killed more than one million people, and kidnapped and raped and killed, or changed into sex slaves more than a million Muslim women. Non-violence died in shame.
A person's greatness can be judged by the greatness of his accomplishments; Gandhi accomplished this: He failed to keep Muslim India from refusing to accept the identity Gandhi wanted to give them, and he failed to persuade his own followers to practice the same non- violence that he had preached his whole life!
However, I must emphasise that Jinnah's success and accomplishment also proves what Hill had described: the great power of faith. Jinnah succeeded by possessing faith in what he believed faith, and by instilling the same faith into the minds of eighty million followers, to such an extent that history was changed for ever and eighty million people (which number now stands at 160 million) wore a new identity which is now recognised and accepted the world over.
Book Review: Become successful Summary: 5 Stars
If you're serious about wealth and success you MUST read this book. It has lasted for over 60 years and is still one of the top books of our time. I read this book years ago and can attribute a great part of my success to it. Entrepreneurs or corporate climbers can benefit from this book. The only other book on the market that offers as much is Stop Working by Rohan Hall. Both books should be read by you if your serious about becoming successful.
Book Review: Being positive produces positive results Summary: 4 Stars
My first impression of Think and Grow Rich, by Napoleon Hill, was that it was nearly "shouting" at you to get you to believe his message and adopt a positive thinking program. The thing is, Napoleon Hill was right. If you choose to think positive thoughts consistently, you will experience positive results. He certainly isn't the first person in history to expound on the worthiness of positive thinking, but Napoleon Hill was certainly one of the first Americans to really focus on this as a formula to apply to business applications for wealth building. It works. It's that simple. Another book that has recently come to my attention about a positive mental attitude, applied for financial gain, is The One Minute Guide to Prosperity and Enlightenment, by Sri Siva. This book is unusual because it combines Eastern practices with Western practicality to forge a program that is off-the-beaten-path but effective. It's interesting to read about a new approach with a "twist," because you never know what will work for you. So why not try something different?
Book Review: Best Book I Have Ever Read! Summary: 5 Stars
Want to read a wonderful book? Read this one by Napolean Hill! It has changed my life. I first read this book over 5 years ago and it did not have an impact on my life. I was in college and not out in the real world. Today is a different story. After reading this book 3 months ago, I am in the process of starting a business with my father-in-law and I can't remember feeling so alive and energized!
I can't wait to get up in the morning and apply the principles taught in this book into my own life. Having been written in the 1930's is a plus also because it shows you that the goals and plans of yesterdays millionaires are the same as today. The only thing that has changed is time.
If you buy only one book this year, buy this one. If you want to change your life, buy this book today. You can start applying the principles and lessons you learn after reading the first chapter. I wish I had read this book before I wrote mine, "Sunset Point." I know it would of turned out better than the first. Even though it is a great story.
